- Is Upscale Media free?
- Yes. You can upscale an image on the homepage without an account (up to 5 MB, 10 per hour). A free account adds 2 images per month at up to 2x, with no credit card. Paid plans start at $4 a month.
- Do you add a watermark?
- No. No plan adds a watermark, including the free one.
- Which file types and sizes can I upload?
- JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF and GIF. Files can be up to 10 MB with an account, or 5 MB without one.
- How much larger can an image get?
- Up to 4x in each direction, which is 16 times the pixels. Free accounts upscale at up to 2x. Paid plans can also set an exact target width or height.
- Does it keep transparent backgrounds?
- Yes. Images with transparency keep it, and the result is saved as a PNG.
- How long do you keep my images?
- Files from the homepage demo are deleted after 24 hours. With an account: 7 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, 90 days on Professional, 180 days on Enterprise. You can delete any image yourself at any time, and we do not use your images to train AI models.
- Is there an API?
- Yes. A REST API with token authentication and asynchronous processing is included in the Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans, with batch endpoints on Professional and Enterprise. The documentation is public.
- What is it useful for?
- Making a small image large enough to print, meeting marketplace size requirements for product photos, enlarging scanned family photos, preparing AI-generated art for wall prints, and sharpening low-resolution logos.
